Atlantic Visiting Nurse, part of Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Educator (RN) to work from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Reports to: Manager of Education and Quality

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Provides clinical education to new and existing team members
   • Identifies team member learning needs
   • Provides orientation to home care policies and procedures
   • Mentors new employees via demonstration and joint home visits to develop and assess competency
   • Provides EMR training in accordance with agency policy and regulations, becomes certified in EMR training
   • Reviews documentation for accuracy and completion to ensure patient needs and regulations are met

1. Collaborates with preceptors, clinical team and nursing education regarding orientation of new team members
   • Assures new team member is provided with appropriate clinical experiences and skills development
   • Demonstrates case management skills and provides team member feedback on progress as they develop competency in this skill
   • Maintains documentation of orientation progress

1. Serves as clinical resource for new graduates in higher learner/residency program
   • Meets regularly with manager, preceptor, and higher learner to establish goals and review progress
   • Assures higher learner is provided with clinical experiences to allow for competency development
   • Coordinates opportunities to develop clinical, case management, communication, and patient experience skills
   • Provides higher learner with real time feedback on progress

1. Serves as a resource to clinical team members
   1. Develops and implements educational programs

• Provides individual or team education as indicated
• Performs joint visits for time management, skills competence, and case management as appropriate
• Provides EMR education related to updates or changes
• Provides N95 fit testing as needed

1. Ensures updated job-related skills
   • Attends workshops, conferences, and training sessions to improve job performance
   • Cross trains to learn new skills
   • Performs home visits as indicated
   • Accepts other assignments to support agency

1. Coordinates mandatory education programs, competency measurements, and PACT

• Collaborates with clinical managers to ensure completion of mandatory education
• Develops or revises annual LMS education
• Collaborates on agency CE programs
• Mentors current nursing team members to reach a higher level of clinical achievement through participation in PACT

1. Facilitates student nurses' clinical experiences

• Assist in educating future members of the health care team
• Arranges schedules for clinical days consisting of joint visits with agency field staff as well as on-site didactic experiences

Job Qualifications/Experience:

1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, BSN preferred
2. Valid NJ Nursing license
3. Minimum of three years of certified home care experience
4. Experience in new hire development, preceptorship, or staff development preferred
5. Physical Requirements: As defined by Occupational Safety
