IU Health has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider to join our collaborative and passionate Surgical Oncology team, focusing on patients with endocrine-mixed tumors.
Job Description:
Full-Time
M-F (8-4:30)
80% outpatient, 20% inpatient
No call
Pre and post op clinic visits for patients with thyroid/parathyroid and mixed endocrine tumors
Patient volume in office: 50-55/week; inpatient discharges: variable
Team includes 19 physicians and 9 APPs; this position will work directly with 3 surgeons
Practice locations include Schwarz Cancer Center at IU North Hospital and the Cancer Pavillion at University Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as an APP for endocrine-mixed tumor patients
Perform daily clinic sessions and conduct inpatient discharges
Perform virtual telehealth appointments, when clinically appropriate
Collaborate with nurse navigators, surgeons, and oncology & radiology services.
Perform surgical drain removals
Qualifications:
Master's Degree required
Open to BE/BC AGACNPs, ANPs, FNPs, and PAs
Ideal candidate will have a clinical background in care of surgical patients and/or oncology patients
Candidate must possess strong communication and critical thinking skills, while showing compassion.
