Schedule: Full-time
Shift: First two weeks of program schedule are from Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Remaining schedule varies based on position and preceptor availability. Schedule may include Day and/or Night Shifts.

The role you’ll contribute:
The Emergency Department Nurse Internship Program (EDNIP) has been designed to support you transitioning to become professional emergency department nurses. The internship includes orientation, computer-based learning, simulation, and precepted clinicals.
Nurses entering the training program will be under the direct supervision of a preceptor for all principal duties and responsibilities during the training program with eventual transition to independent practice after successful training program completion.
The program includes multiple simulation experiences, didactic training, clinical orientation training (up to 16 weeks) and unit specific education as applicable. Some travel may be required for orientation classes.
This program is currently placing Nurses into our Emergency Department at New Smyrna AdventHealth.
Upcoming classes being scheduled: October.

Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standard.
Consistently develops an appropriate plan of care for patient from admission to discharge.
Establishes appropriate implementation of nursing actions to ensure competent nursing care is delivered.
Effectively evaluates the nursing plan of care to ensure safe, competent delivery of care is provided.

Minimum qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree.
