Occ Summary
Perform a variety of nonprofessional nursing duti es in the direct careof patients under the direct supervision of a RN/LP N. Perform taskswithin the scope of a nursing care assistant I and II a s defined by theNC Board of Nursing.
Work Performed
I n addition to duties outlined in NAI job description, the followingdutie s may be performed: sterile dressing change for wounds over 48hours old and wound irrigation; IV fluid assistance activities;oral/nasogastric fe eding; urinary catheterization and irrigation; oxygentherapy, including room set-up and monitoring flow-rate; break up andremoval of fecal impac tion; oropharyngeal and nasopharyngealsuctioning; tracheotomy care; ost omy care, irrigation and annual skillsvalidation.Participate in own prof essional development by maintaining requiredskills validation and attend ing educational offerings. Support thedevelopment of other staff and for mal learners.Perform other related duties incidental to the work describ ed herein.

Completion of LevelI Nurse Aide education program approved by the Nursing. North Carolina Board of Nursing or successful completion of the NC - approved Nurse Aide I competency test and completion of Level II Nurse Aide education programs approved by the North Carolina Board of High School diploma or equivalent required.

Listed as NA I with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property. Listed as NA II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hire orientation, which typically takes place during the first week of employment.
