Position Summary: The Pediatric Oncology Nurse Navigator will serve as a patient/family liaison to assist with complex care coordination, patient/family education, resource management, Hospital and in-clinic nursing visits as needed for children and their families with complex healthcare needs. This is a professional nursing position requiring specialized skills and expertise related to children with complex health care needs. This position works semi-independently under the direction of the Care Management Manager. This position requires organization, prioritization, pediatric clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, the ability to design, direct and implement teaching plans, and effective communication skills. Internal and external contacts include nursing care staff and management, providers, patients, families, community agencies, schools and professional peers.
Minimum Requirements: - Three to Five years recent clinical experience in area of specialty required
Education/Licenses/Certifications: - Current Washington State License as a registered nurse - Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within three years from the initial date of hire - Advanced Degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred - Certification in assigned area preferred
