Overview
St. Luke's Health System in the Treasure Valley is seeking a part time temporary Credentialed Medical Assistant to join our team.
Unit/Position Summary
The CMA is responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider and/or physician. The CMAs prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients including sterilization, cleaning, and checks on medical equipment. A CMA prepares basic laboratory tests on premises and prepares laboratory specimens, as well as entering diagnostic or medication orders under the direction of a Licensed Independent Provider (LIP).
- This will be a part time temporary position in our Ambulatory Float Pool. 16 hours per week minimum with the ability to work more hours if available.
- Most clinics are open from 0800-1530 Monday-Friday. Days worked can be flexible, but will need to be able to work full shifts (up to 9 hours).
- Required to float to up to 3 clinics.
Responsibilities
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Sterilizes, cleans, and performs checks on medical equipment.
- Prepares patients for examination.
- Provides technical, clinical, and clerical support to licensed independent provider.
- Performs medical procedures within scope of roles and responsibilities.
- Processes prescription medication for refill under the supervision of a licensed independent provider.
- Assists licensed independent provider in patient exams and office procedures.
- Prepares basic laboratory tests on premises and prepares laboratory specimens.
- Enters diagnostic or medication orders under the direction of a licensed independent provider.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from a School of Technology for Medical Assistants
Certifications:
- Current recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant
- NCCT, NAHP, AMT, AAMA, AMCA, NHA
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification
