University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Integrative Health practice in Minneapolis at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain. Join our growing multi-specialty practice with a diverse patient mix in regards to age, socioeconomic status and culture!
In This Role, You Will:
- The APN/PA applies holistic knowledge and skills to provide consultation in integrative health including recommendations, treatments, education, and support to pediatric patients and their families.
- Provides the therapy/ modality that support the child's health and wellness goals.
- Evaluates the response to the intervention and makes appropriate changes.
- Integrative Health program development within the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain, located in Minneapolis.
- Communicates with & educates the family members, and other care team members in regards to integrative health care plan.
- Instructs parents in integrative techniques that may be helpful for child.
- Promotes health education to patients, families, community and other health care professional groups about integrative health and wellbeing topics.
- Serves as a resource to hospital staff and health care team members.
- Provides education to patients, families or caregivers as needed.
- Provides continuing education learning to community and other professional groups as requested.
- Provides leadership in standards of quality improvement and research utilization in the integrative health nursing care environment. Participates with teams in quality improvement to enhance integrative health education and services.
- As a Pioneer Accountable Care Organization (ACO), our providers use a multidisciplinary team approach in handling patient care.
- Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).
Schedule:
- 1.0 FTE
- Day time hours - primarily outpatient
We're Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
What Could Set You Apart?
- Doctorate of Nurse Practice
- Holistic health certification through American Holistic Nurse Association
- Integrative Health program development experience
- Experience with mental health patient population.
- demonstrated ability with integrative therapies. (ex: Healing Touch, guided imagery, hypnosis, etc.). Previous experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a Pediatric Integrative Care or related specialty
- Healing Touch or children/infant massage certification within 6 months of hire
- At least 1 year experience caring for infants and children, either as an RN or an NP or PA.
