JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN I) collaborates with department/unit leadership to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate education activities, competency validation, clinical care, programs and initiatives for the assigned department/units. The CRN I demonstrates proficient clinical knowledge and skills and effective teaching/education skills and supports system level nursing clinical and education nursing initiatives.
The CRN I supports leadership within the department including: quality improvement activities; effective human resources management; and resource accountability. The CRN I exemplifies professionalism and promotes a customer-friendly environment by utilizing ServiceFIRST behaviors in interactions with patients, families, and staff members.
The CRN I facilitates an environment that cultivates exemplary patient care. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the CRN I establishes a setting that supports professional nursing practice and empowers nurses to provide safe, effective, compassionate and efficient nursing care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. The CRN I facilitates enculturation of the Harris Health System Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM), its goals and achievement of targeted outcomes at the unit level. The CRN I supports compliance with standards established by professional nursing organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies and institutional policies and procedures. The CRN I holds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior, mentors others, role models professionalism, and participates in activities such as nursing organizations, nursing research, and the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
a. Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelors degree in Nursing is required.
b. Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas. Related specialty certification required within two years of employment. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Other certificates as required by unit/service.
Work Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice is required.
Management/Experience: Two (2) years related clinical/leadership experience is preferred.
