JOB SUMMARY
MATERNAL CHILD - LABOR & DELIVERY - STROGER HOSPITAL - CHICAGO, IL. SHIFT: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
The In-House Registry Nurse-Specialty is a professional care provider who is responsible and accountable for coordinating and providing safe, effective individualized nursing care to critically ill patients and supportive care to significant others. Assesses patient's needs and plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to established standards. These activities require nursing judgment based on application of scientific principles of nursing, critical thinking, problem solving and teaching/ learning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- One (1) year of OB/GYNE nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Two (2) years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery.
- Must be able to obtain an Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ) certification within Three (3) months of hire. (If already obtained must provide proof at time of interview)
- Must be able to obtain a Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) certification within Three (3) months of hire. (If already obtained must provide proof at time of interview)
- Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of starting. (If already obtained must provide proof at time of interview)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Any NNOC member who responds and/or accepts this position will waive his/her right to the 60 (sixty) day trial period in accordance with Section 4.4(N) of the CBA as of the date of this posting.
