The Critical Care Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. The nurse coordinates care between other disciplines as needed. The RN will contribute to a positive and professional environment. This job requires employees to demonstrate initial and annual competencies in order to remain in the position. Essential Job Responsibilities: - The nurse is responsible for patient's care with the use of critical thinking skills, supervising other staff in providing care to the patients. - Administering medications and other treatments as ordered by the physician, providing nursing interventions as appropriate to the patients' physical and emotional needs, beliefs, cultural needs, medical and nursing diagnosis, evaluating the patients' responses to those interventions and adjusting care priorities as needed. - Whenever possible, the family or significant other is considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of the RN. - Through documentation and verbal communication, essential information is shared with health care team members. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Minimum of one year experience in critical care preferred. Knowledge of electronic documentation experience is a plus. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland or compact state. American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required. Understands the principles of Service Excellence, Shared Governance and Magnet Recognition and supports the same. Schedule Full Time - Day/Evening with Night rotation with rotating weekends and holidays
The successful candidate may be eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus to be paid over a period of 12 months.
