The Registered Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager (Intensive Care Unit/Dialysis provides care and counseling of persons in the promotion and maintenance of health, prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process. The Assistant Nurse Manager works in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and functions as a supervisor to assume accountability for the operation of a designated unit. This includes the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. As a Registered Nurse, the Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice. Creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides leadership in improving patient care, maintaining standards of care, directing and teaching personnel in a variety of settings. Responsibilities include providing coverage for the Intensive Care Unit/Dialysis and assigning nursing personnel to the various patient care areas within the Department on a daily basis. Other responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to the following: Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Demonstrates consistent clinical competence in providing nursing care Provides leadership in establishing goals, evaluating the plan of care, and in discharge planning. Initiates referrals to other disciplines and/or services as appropriate. Enters documents/documentation in the medical record of patient findings, assessments, and care provided. Revises interdisciplinary plan of care based upon on-going patient assessment and evaluation. Utilizes the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and the Bar-Coded Medication Administration (BCMA) software per policy. Functions as the charge nurse, team leader, or in other leadership role that guides and directs others who provide patient care. Makes assignments and directs activities of other unit staff, (RNs, LPNs, students, PSAs, other team members). Assigns patient care responsibilities based upon patient needs and competencies of staff. Identifies and assesses resource utilization and safety issues, taking appropriate action. Performs ongoing assessment of patient condition and response to treatment. Initiates referrals to other disciplines and/or services as appropriate. Assesses the patient's learning needs, learning preference, and readiness to learn. Assists in staffing for both Acute Dialysis/Intensive Care Unit Maintains 24/7 accountability for clinical area. Provides on-call and 24/7 Acute Dialysis/Intensive care coverage of ICU/Dialysis Unit as needed or required. Performs other related duties as assigned in functional statement. Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday to include weekends and holidays (Alternate tour of duty may be required based on needs of agency) Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
