The Alexandria VA Healthcare System is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for their Fort Polk Outpatient Clinic. This NP will be assigned to the PACT Orange Team. The advanced practice Nurse is prepared to practice in an expanded role to provide health care to individuals, families, and/or groups in a variety of settings including but not limited to homes, hospitals, institutions, offices, industry, schools, community agencies, public and private clinics, and private practice. The advanced practice Nurse acts independently and/or in collaboration with other health care professionals in the delivery of health care services. The Nurse Practitioner must maintain competence as an advanced practice Nurse by practicing in the advanced role and specialty in the clinical setting (Louisiana Board of Nurse Examiners). The NP's primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, or community. Duties include but are not limited too: Provide care to approximately 12-20 outpatients daily in an outpatient setting, including diagnosis, care and treatment, as well as consultations to other services when requested. Responsible for all facets of acute outpatient care. Will assist in completing quality management reviews. Must be computer literate with computer skills to access and input electronic medical documentation. Responsible for the successful achievement of applicable Performance Measure and Monitors for his/her areas of responsibility.
