Registered Nurse - Assistant Nurse Manager (Specialty Care Clinics)
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional nurse who shares with the Nurse Manager (NM) the twenty-four-hour accountability for the management of a defined area of organized nursing services or patient care unit. The incumbent is a first level-nursing manager who functions under the direction and guidance of the NM. The ANM directly supervises nursing personnel on their assigned unit and provides coverage for NM in his/her absence, and under the supervision of the covering NM. The Assistant Nurse Manager serves as an assistant with line authority to the unit Nurse Manager in providing leadership and direction to nursing staff. He/she is accountable for adhering to established policies, standards of care and standards of practice; demonstrating leadership in improving nursing care
