The Nurse Residency Faculty establishes effective relationships with all Nursing Service personnel and serves as liaison between the medical center and selected community agencies. The faculty are role models in demonstrating excellence in practice, they serve as a clinical mentor/preceptor for clinical and administrative staff, consults/collaborates in patient care and research, and educates in both formal and informal situations. Duties include but are not limited to: Serve as program faculty to provide leadership in program implementation and evaluation, including developing, maintaining and evaluating clinical practice. Communicate and interact effectively with academic partners, trainees, and all internal and external customers. Contribute to didactic curriculum development and engage in didactic education for trainees. Participate in site visit and accreditation planning and activities. Act as a preceptor to trainees and other program faculty. Provide guidance to trainees on performance improvement activities. Complete trainee evaluations timely and provide feedback to trainees. Promote educational goals and opportunities for faculty preceptors. Maintain clinical practice in area of expertise. Maintain faculty appointment at academic partner. Other duties as assigned.
