What You'll Do in This Promising Role: Reporting to the Behavioral Health director of nursing, you will take twenty-four-hour accountability for the quality of nursing care delivered on five Behavioral Health inpatient units. Serving as a key member of the department's operational leadership team, you'll collaborate with physician staff and other department managers in providing administrative management, training, and supervision/evaluation of nursing staff, as well as delegation of duties and staff scheduling. In addition, you'll ensure adherence to accreditation standards, implementation of quality initiatives, and best practices within a shared-governance model that inspires strong communication and empowerment.
What We Require:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
Master's degree OR a BSN with current enrollment in an MSN program or commitment to entering one to be completed within three years.
Two or more years of inpatient psychiatric clinical nursing experience, including an extensive background in crisis intervention and the clinical experience to function as a hands-on role model on the units and evaluate quality of care.
Current CPR certification at time of hire.
Current ANCC certification.
The advanced analytical/problem-solving skills to develop and administer an innovative care-delivery system within staff and budget constraints, provide input for departmental policy and procedures, analyze and evaluate patient care, and plan staffing levels and patterns.
The interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of hospital personnel and external parties, frequently in situations which are sensitive and/or of significance to the entire hospital.
The managerial skills to plan, organize, direct, and control the operation of a large, critical department and effectively delegate responsibilities to qualified subordinates.
