The Clinical Technician provides direct care and supervision of patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. The Clinical Tech has the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety, environmental safety, and manages patient behavior on the unit. The Clinical Tech will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. While performing specific duties, the Clinical Tech must provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse violent situation, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
Certified Nursing Assistant required within one year of hire or transfer.
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, completion of specialized training (Certified Psychiatric Tech), or related field preferred
Minimum one year experience working with a psychiatric population required; 2 or more years preferred
Current CPR and SAMA training certification or attainment during orientation.
