Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
Clinical Decision Unit
10 bed unit
Short stay unit with most patients staying 23 hours or less for observation
Usually after 24 hours patients are either safely discharged or admitted to a unit within the hospital
Unit will provide comprehensive care to patients whose medical condition does not immediately warrant a direct admission to a medical facility
Someone showing signs and symptoms of a stroke and needs to be observed
Patient that received a blood transfusion and need to be observed
Will receive patients from emergency room, a post op procedure or transfer
