Millwood Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Registered Nurse to assist our Excel Center of Arlington facility.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the nursing care provided for the Excel Center.
KEY PERORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Complete nursing assessment within 1 visit.
Within 3 visits, a plan of care is initiated that includes data obtained from the written nursing assessment and nursing interventions.
Daily documentation of patient assessment on the nursing flow sheet
Accurately process and carry out all physicians' orders in a timely manner.
Communicate with clinical staff pertinent information received from family members
Provide patient/family education regarding medications.
Communicate with parents medication changes recommended by physician
Monitor the physical environment, taking measures to correct safety hazards, assuring a clean, comfortable, home-like atmosphere. Submit written monthly environmental inspection report to Director.
Supervise self administration of medication by patients.
Document discharge instructions including food and drug interactions, diet and activities as appropriate.
Evaluate for any cluster of signs/symptoms of infection and initiate appropriate infection control measures.
Maintain temperature control logs for all refrigerators
Submit patient infection reports to hospital Infection Control Coordinator
Provide for employee health needs such as annual TB skin testing and influenza vaccines.
Submit reports of employee illnesses to hospital Infection Control coordinator.
Communicate with parents to provide information as requested
Follow-up contact for patients absent from program.
Provides coverage for Excel Lewisville as requested
Provides backup assistance for Utilization Review function
Maintains MIDAS data base for utilization review documentation
Provides daily update to administrative assistant for updating utilization review log
Conducts daily census meeting in absence of UR Coordinator
