The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the development and implementation of an infection control program to include the surveillance, prevention and control of infection and to reduce the risks of acquiring and transmitting infection among patients and employees. The infection control nurse functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the facility and Standards of Practice of the Center for Disease Control. The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. This position may also have supervisory responsibilities for LPN and Psychiatric Technicians in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
