The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) is an essential part of an interdisciplinary nursing unit which works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and provides coordination of unit communications, transcribes medical information and physician orders, and performs clerical reception for the nursing unit. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Health Southeast Texas Health System, and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification from an approved Nurse Assistant training course or two years prior experience as Nurse Assistant in another health care facility, or proof of acceptance into an approved LVN program, or current EMT certificate.
Six (6) months experience in a hospital preferred.
Proficient in basic nursing tasks.
Maintains current AHA CPR certification.
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and medical staff both verbally and written form.
